Sight fishing Redfish with Carrot Stix Fishing Rods

If you have never sight fished any kind of fish, you are missing out on one of the most exciting, heart pounding experiences fishing has to offer. I myself, sight fish redfish for fun and for tournaments. To be able to watch these fish swim around, chase bait, and just do the things that fish do is pretty neat in itself. Buttttttt, to be able to cast and present your lure to the redfish, watch it stalk your bait and annihilate it is a whole other story. It is much easier said than done. Most of the time these redfish will be very orange in color due to the water clarity you would typically be fishing in. You will be able to see them up to 20-30 yards away swimming near the surface. There is a lot of skill involved when approaching the fish not to spook it away, because if you can see the fish, 9 times out of 10 it can see you. Once positioned correctly, a very precise cast must be made for an ideal presentation. Then, when you have the fishes attention, that's when the heart pounding begins!!! Sometimes they will just ignore your lure. Other times they might investigate it, then just dart off in the other direction. That's the discouraging part of it, but when you are able to see that fish inhale your bait, and you set that hook. Theres no other feeling like it!!!
