GEN X, Unbeatable Performance
Gen X,
This is a very superior rod while comparing the GEN X to other brands which would build and create a rod of similar stature. The look is spectacular but unlike other rods, looks is not the only thing this rod provides. It has unbeatable performance, sensitivity is key with this rod.
For many beginner anglers, sensitivity in a rod may not allow that angler to learn the difference between their bait being hit by a fish, or the bait hitting a rock, weed, log, etc. Which is why i would NOT advise this rod for somebody just getting to know water. But for the experienced/ tournament angler where sensitivity, feeling, and performance is an absolute necessity this rod will fulfill all their needs and desires. The slightest hit on your bait by the smallest fish you will be able to distinguish from hitting the lone weed which may "move" like a fish but is not, we have all been there. But the sensitivity in the rod will also allow you to know when that trophy Northern or that Bass really has your bait or have they just nipped at it and the hook isn't even able to be set without you pulling it out of its mouth.
The two pictures provided are two fish from 2 separate days in which I had to wait for both of them to fully devour my bait I was using for both an inline spinner with a single hook and tipped with a 4" grub. allowing for lots of the tail of the grub to hang back which is a blessing and curse when a LM Bass or a Northern comes along, due to the extra 3" of grub hanging off I knew fish would hit it but not have the hook in their mouths, which happened often which made me have to rely a little bit more on my rod to let me know what was going on. For the Bass I had felt him nip at it twice before he had inhaled the spinner, which both nibbles were quite ferocious for a bass but the way I was able to feel my lure moving through the water I knew he didn't have it. With the Northern, in classic Northern Pike style he had hit hard, and dragged to the bottom in a weed bed I could feel that he hadn't had the hook as I pulled my rod upward but after letting him sit with it for ~5 seconds and hear the drag pull and the head shake I knew he had had taken that second chomp upward towards the hook!
I would recommend this rod to any angler that travels near and far in search of trophy fish, although the price may scare you off think twice of why. This rod is amazing for most fish in Ontario, and will enhance your feeling under the water, with an excellent back bone for strength, flexibility, and sensitivity the rod will please all needs for the experienced angler.
